The RIGOL M300 Series is a modular data acquisition and switching system designed for multichannel measurements, product validation, automated production testing and sensor monitoring. Its five-slot mainframe supports eight plug-in module types, an optional 6½-digit DMM, scan speeds up to 60 channels per second and up to 320 switch channels. A 4.3-inch colour display and multiple communication interfaces simplify standalone and automated operation..
The RIGOL M300 Series Data Acquisition and Switching System is designed for engineers, laboratories, production facilities and research teams that need to measure and monitor multiple signals through a single configurable platform.
Unlike an oscilloscope, the M300 is built specifically for multichannel data acquisition, switching, scanning and automated measurement. Its modular architecture allows users to combine a precision digital multimeter module with multiplexers, actuator channels, a switch matrix and multifunction input/output modules according to the test application.
The system is suitable for product performance testing during research and development, environmental monitoring, temperature logging, component validation, production-line testing and automated test equipment integration.
The RIGOL M300 mainframe includes five plug-in module slots. These slots can accept different combinations of eight available module types.
Users can configure the system for:
The modular design allows users to purchase only the measurement and switching functions required for the application. Modules can also be changed when testing requirements evolve.
The modules do not support hot plugging. The mainframe must be switched off before a module is inserted or removed.

The RIGOL M300 Series is available in three primary configurations:
The M300 base mainframe does not include a permanently built-in digital multimeter. Measurement capability is added through the MC3065 DMM module, an M301 or M302 bundle, or a compatible external digital multimeter.
The optional MC3065 digital multimeter module provides 6½-digit reading resolution for accurate multichannel measurements.
Supported measurement functions include:
The DMM module can be installed in any mainframe slot. When it is used with compatible multiplexer modules, the system automatically routes each configured input channel to the measurement module during a scan.

The M300 mainframe can support up to 320 switch channels when all five slots are populated with 64-channel MC3164 multiplexer modules.
When one slot is occupied by the MC3065 DMM module, the remaining four slots can support up to 256 directly measured channels using four MC3164 modules.
This distinction is important when selecting a configuration:
The selected channel capacity depends on the module combination and measurement method.
The RIGOL M300 supports a maximum scan speed of up to 60 channels per second. This enables efficient monitoring of multiple test points in research, validation and production environments.
Actual scan performance can depend on:
For applications requiring higher measurement accuracy or improved noise rejection, the scan rate may be reduced by using a longer integration time.
The M300 can perform data acquisition without being permanently connected to a computer.
The 4.3-inch colour display allows users to:
This standalone functionality is useful for laboratory benches, production stations and long-duration monitoring applications where a dedicated computer is not always required.

The system supports USB data logging and interval scanning. It can store up to 100,000 time-stamped readings for later review and analysis.
Recorded data can include:
USB storage support helps users transfer acquired data to a computer for reporting, analysis and long-term record keeping.
The M300 provides five trigger modes:
Automatic triggering supports configurable scan intervals. Users can configure a fixed number of scans or continuous scanning according to the monitoring requirement.
External triggering allows the M300 to synchronise with other equipment in an automated test setup. Alarm triggering can begin a scan when a selected channel meets a defined alarm condition.
The M300 provides built-in statistical functions to help users evaluate acquired data directly on the instrument.
Available statistics include:
Upper and lower limits can be configured for individual channels. The system can display alarm conditions when a measurement exceeds the configured limits.
These functions are useful for:
The standard M300 configuration provides multiple communication interfaces:
The LAN interface supports LXI Core 2011 Device functionality. The system also supports standard SCPI commands for remote programming and integration with automated test software.
These interfaces allow users to:
RIGOL UltraAcquire software supports instrument configuration, data acquisition, analysis and reporting from a computer.
The software can control up to five M300 mainframes in a larger test system.
UltraAcquire supports:
Connecting multiple mainframes allows engineers to build larger distributed acquisition systems for complex production, reliability and environmental tests.

The final RIGOL M300 price depends on the selected mainframe configuration, DMM module, multiplexer modules, terminal blocks, software and accessories.
The M300 provides five slots for configurable measurement and switching modules.
This modular structure offers several advantages:
The M300 supports eight module types:
The module range supports precision measurement, signal routing, relay control, digital I/O and complex switching applications.
The MC3065 provides the primary precision measurement capability for the M300 platform.
Key functions include:
The maximum signal connected to the DMM through the analog bus must not exceed 300 V DC or 300 V RMS.
The MC3120 provides 20 fully isolated two-wire channels arranged in two banks of ten channels.
Key capabilities include:
This module is suitable for general voltage, resistance, frequency and temperature measurements.
The MC3132 provides 32 fully isolated two-wire channels divided into two banks of 16.
Key capabilities include:
The MC3164 provides the highest channel density in the M300 module range.
Key capabilities include:
The MC3164 does not support four-wire resistance measurement.
Using five MC3164 modules provides up to 320 switch channels. Using one MC3065 and four MC3164 modules provides up to 256 directly measured channels.
The MC3324 combines voltage and current measurement channels in one module.
It includes:
This module is useful when voltage, resistance, temperature and current must be measured within the same system.
The MC3416 provides 16 actuator channels for switching external devices or connecting signals to a device under test.
Each channel supports:
It can be used to control relays, indicators, loads, fixtures and other devices in an automated test setup.
The MC3534 combines digital input/output, totalizer input and analog output functions.
It provides:
This module can be used for digital status monitoring, pulse counting, equipment control and analog stimulus generation.
The MC3648 provides a 4 × 8 matrix with 32 two-wire crosspoints.
It supports:
Multiple matrix modules can be combined, provided the total number of crosspoints does not exceed the supported system limit.
The maximum scan speed of 60 channels per second helps reduce test time in multichannel production and monitoring applications.
This is useful for:
The 4.3-inch high-resolution colour LCD displays:
The system can be configured and operated directly from the front panel without a computer.
Internal interval-scanning functions can store up to 100,000 time-stamped readings.
This supports:
The M300 provides:
These trigger options support both standalone measurements and synchronised automated test procedures.
Standard interfaces include:
No separate communication module is required for the standard interfaces.
SCPI command support allows the M300 to be controlled from:
UltraAcquire can control up to five M300 mainframes. This enables the construction of larger systems with additional channels and more complex switching arrangements.
The software supports:
