The IWATSU CS-5400 is the highest-current configuration in the CS-5000 Series of semiconductor curve tracers. It is designed for engineers and laboratories that need to characterize high-power semiconductor devices across both high-voltage and high-current operating regions. The CS-5000 Series reaches a maximum peak voltage of 5 kV in HV mode, while the CS-5400 extends high-current capability to 1,500 A peak in HC pulse mode.
In High-Voltage mode, the system supports Rectified SINE ±, DC ±, LEAKAGE ± and AC operation. Its maximum HV output ranges include 5 kV at 25 mA, 300 V at 750 mA, and 30 V at 7.5 A, with peak pulse capability depending on the selected operating conditions. The horizontal voltage range extends from 50 mV/div to 500 V/div.
For high-current semiconductor testing, the CS-5400 provides three HC operating ranges: 1,500 A / 12 kW / 30 V, 600 A / 4.5 kW / 30 V, and 60 A / 450 W / 30 V. HC operation uses positive or negative pulse output, with pulse width adjustable from 50 μs to 400 μs in 10 μs increments. Measurement timing can also be specified with 10 μs resolution.
The CS-5400 supports very low-current characterization through its dedicated LEAKAGE mode with 1 pA cursor resolution. It also provides waveform display, cursor measurement functions, internal setup and reference waveform storage, USB data storage, and LAN connectivity for remote operation.
The model uses the CS-304 Test Fixture, which is specifically designated for the CS-5400. PMK America's listed CS-5400 configuration includes the CS-304 Test Fixture, CS-005 Wire Set, CS-006 High Current Cable Set and CS-500 Blank Test Adapter. The PMK listing also specifies CC-5400 Calibration Certificate and ID-5400 Inspection Test Data as required items.
