The KIT FLAT HEATSINK ASTRIAL H15 (1E000497) is a fanless passive cooling solution designed for compatible ASTRIAL H15 edge AI installations. The kit combines a dedicated heatspreader, 2 mm ultrasoft thermal gap pad, mounting washers, screws and 1.5 mm spacers to provide efficient passive heat transfer without requiring an active cooling fan. It is suitable for compact smart cameras, embedded vision, machine vision and industrial edge AI systems..
The KIT FLAT HEATSINK ASTRIAL H15 1E000497, officially documented by System Electronics as the FANLESS HEATSINK ASTRIAL KIT, is a passive thermal-management solution designed for ASTRIAL module installations where forced-air cooling is not required or desirable.
The kit uses a dedicated heatspreader to conduct heat away from the ASTRIAL processing module. A 2 mm ultrasoft gap pad provides the thermal interface between the module and heatspreader, helping maintain effective contact while accommodating mechanical tolerances between components.
Unlike the active ASTRIAL cooling kit, the 1E000497 configuration contains no cooling fan. This makes it suitable for applications requiring low acoustic noise, reduced mechanical complexity and fanless operation.
The passive design is particularly relevant for embedded systems installed inside compact industrial enclosures, intelligent cameras, machine vision systems and edge AI devices where system designers want to minimise moving components.
System Electronics supports installation on both carrier boards with and without existing spacers. For carrier boards without integrated spacers, the kit includes four 1.5 mm spacers that are positioned between the ASTRIAL module and carrier board to help prevent board bending during installation.
The supplied mounting hardware consists of DIN 137A M2.6 wavy washers and DIN 7985 M2.5 × 10 screws. System Electronics specifies a tightening torque of 0.4 Nm when securing the heatsink assembly to the module.
The manufacturer also instructs installers to remove the protective liners from the gap pad before assembly and advises that the thermal gap pad should not be repeatedly reused after installation.
For ASTRIAL H15 systems, this heatsink supports a platform based on the Hailo-15 Vision Processor, capable of up to 20 TOPS of AI processing. The ASTRIAL H15 integrates 4 GB LPDDR4, 32 GB eMMC, dual MIPI CSI interfaces, PCIe Gen 3 x4, Gigabit Ethernet and dual ISP functionality, with System Electronics specifying a low-power design of approximately 4 W.
This makes the fanless heatsink suitable for developers and OEMs building smart cameras, industrial machine vision systems, robotics, embedded computer vision and edge AI platforms around the ASTRIAL H15 architecture.
