KIT FLAT HEATSINK ASTRIAL H15 - 1E000501

The KIT FLAT HEATSINK ASTRIAL H15 1E000501, officially identified by System Electronics as the FLAT HEATSINK ASTRIAL KIT, is designed to provide thermal management for compatible ASTRIAL module installations.

The kit uses a dedicated heatspreader together with a 2 mm ultrasoft gap pad to create an effective thermal interface between the ASTRIAL module and the cooling assembly. The gap pad helps maintain contact between the module and heatspreader while accommodating mechanical tolerances within the system.

Unlike the active heatsink configuration, the flat heatsink design is intended for applications where a compact thermal interface is preferred and system-level heat dissipation can be managed without a dedicated fan mounted directly on the kit.

System Electronics supports two installation configurations. The first is for carrier boards without spacers, where the supplied 1.5 mm spacers are installed between the ASTRIAL module and the carrier board. These spacers help prevent board bending while the cooling assembly is secured.

The second installation method is designed for carrier boards that already include suitable spacers. In this case, the additional supplied spacers are not required.

The manufacturer specifies the use of DIN 7985 M2.5 × 20 screws and DIN 137A M2.6 wavy washers to secure the heatsink kit to the carrier. A tightening torque of 0.4 Nm is specified to reduce the risk of mechanical damage to the module.

System Electronics also instructs installers to remove the protective liners from the thermal gap pad before installation and advises against repeatedly reusing the same gap pad.

The flat heatsink kit is suitable for edge AI, smart camera, industrial machine vision, robotics and embedded vision systems built around compatible ASTRIAL hardware where compact and reliable heat transfer is required.
