Power Choke Tester DPG10 – Series

The DPG10 Series is a professional-grade Power Choke Tester built for evaluating inductive components under real operating conditions. It measures incremental inductance, saturation behaviour and magnetic parameters across a wide current range, making it ideal for R&D labs, production testing and quality assurance in power electronics..

The DPG10 Series is designed to measure how inductors and chokes behave when exposed to real current pulses, not just small-signal AC conditions. Its pulse-based method applies a controlled voltage pulse to the device under test, generating a natural current ramp. From that ramp, the instrument calculates inductance as a function of current, allowing engineers to clearly see saturation points and non-linear behaviour.

This approach makes the DPG10 especially valuable for modern power-electronic designs, where inductors operate under pulsed currents, varying duty cycles and high dynamic loads. Unlike traditional LCR meters, the DPG10 reveals the actual behaviour of materials such as ferrites, iron powder and laminated cores under conditions similar to converters, inverters and switching power supplies.

The system supports extremely wide pulse lengths, from a few microseconds to tens of milliseconds or more, enabling accurate analysis of both high-frequency and low-frequency core materials. With multiple model variants available, the DPG10 Series can handle everything from milliamp-level components to massive chokes requiring thousands of amperes.

Powerful PC software is included, offering graphical L(i) curves, co-energy plots, tabular data, report export and integration options for automated workflows. For industrial and R&D environments that rely on accurate magnetic component characterization, the DPG10 Series is one of the most reliable and flexible solutions available.

  • Measures incremental inductance, secant inductance, flux linkage, co-energy and DC resistance.

  • Pulsed impulse method gives realistic inductance curves even for non-linear magnetic cores.

  • Wide measuring range, from tiny SMD inductors to large power chokes depending on model.

  • Adjustable pulse voltage and pulse width to match real-world application conditions.

  • Supports long pulse durations suitable for low-frequency materials and large inductors.

  • PC software for curve plotting, data export and automated test integration.

  • Optional three-phase measurement extension for testing three-phase chokes without rewiring.
