Power Choke Tester DPG20 – 10000B/G

The DPG20-10000B/G is a very high-current Power Choke Tester designed to handle extremely large inductors, reactors, and power chokes. It delivers test currents up to 10 kA with high pulse energy, making it ideal for heavy-duty power-electronics applications such as railway traction, wind turbines, grid infrastructure, and industrial power systems..

The DPG20-10000B/G uses a pulsed-impulse measurement method: a controlled high-voltage pulse is applied to the inductor or choke under test. The resulting current ramp is captured via fast sampling of voltage and current waveforms. From these signals, the tester computes a full inductance curve L(i), flux linkage, magnetic co-energy, and DC resistance, revealing real-world saturation behaviour even at very high currents.

With capabilities up to 10 kA and 15 kJ pulse energy, the tester is suitable for large-scale magnetic components, including grid reactors, heavy-duty power transformers, large PFC chokes, industrial drive inductors, and railway-traction chokes. Adjustable pulse voltage and pulse width allow testing under realistic operating conditions.

Despite its high power rating, the unit is compact enough for lab or production environments. The included accessory set ensures immediate readiness for measurement, analysis, and production-quality testing.

  • Test current ranges: 100 A, 1,000 A, and up to 10,000 A

  • Maximum pulse energy up to 15,000 J for very large magnetic components

  • Adjustable pulse voltage from 20 V to 780 V for high-voltage testing

  • Pulse width range from 3 µs up to 1 s to accommodate different core materials

  • DC resistance measurement range from 0.001 mΩ to 3.5 Ω for high-energy windings and large coils

  • Compact footprint for its capability: approx. 470 × 500 × 340 mm, weight around 41 kg

  • Delivered as a complete testing system with force/sense leads, high-current leads, interface cables, PC software, and calibration certificate
