The MD8475B is a highly integrated signalling test platform that simulates 2G, 3G, and 4G radio access networks to validate and verify user equipment (UE) behavior under real-world conditions. With support for up to 5 Carrier Aggregation (CA) scenarios and 2x2 or 4x4 MIMO, it enables efficient LTE-A performance testing, throughput validation, and mobility scenarios such as cell reselection, redirection, fallback, and inter-RAT transitions.

SmartStudio, the included GUI environment, allows users to run functional tests without writing test scripts, making it ideal for both engineers and QA teams. Meanwhile, developers can switch to Script Mode to create custom SIP-based IMS testing or simulate abnormal call conditions.

The tester includes VoLTE, eCall (ETSI, CEN), NG-eCall, and ERA-GLONASS services, fulfilling regional compliance needs for emergency communication. Additional capabilities include WLAN offload testing, multi-cell simulation, and continuous automated testing using SmartStudio Manager, which also controls connected Android devices for synchronized scenarios.
