The POF Adapter is a game-changing enhancement for PMK’s FireFly® optically isolated probes, eliminating the need to recharge or replace batteries during extended measurement sessions. This makes it ideal for automated environments, production test stations, and 24/7 lab setups.
Installation is simple: remove the standard 18650 battery and insert the POF module. This adds a second fiber optic link to the FireFly® system — one for signal transmission and one for power delivery. Both lines preserve the galvanic isolation, ensuring the probe’s electrical performance and safety remain fully intact.
The probe head’s form factor remains unchanged, meaning no alterations to your mechanical setup or test fixtures. The adapter is completely backward compatible with earlier FireFly® models.
Each FireFly® system with POF requires two power supply channels from a PMK PS02 or PS03 unit — one for the interface board (IB), and one for the POF base station. The oscilloscope and PMK power supplies connect directly to the power grid, while the probe head remains electrically isolated through fiber optics.
This configuration supports full remote control and delivers clean, uninterrupted power, making it the perfect solution for repeatable, high-throughput test environments.
