FT-7200

The Ono Sokki FT-7200 is a portable, high-precision handheld tachometer designed for non-contact RPM measurement using FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) analysis. It detects rotational speed from sound, vibration, or magnetic flux without the need for reflective markers or physical contact, making it ideal for motors, engines, and devices where direct access is difficult..

The FT-7200 uses advanced FFT frequency analysis to measure RPM in hard-to-reach applications, such as embedded motors in appliances, industrial machines, and vehicles. By interpreting vibrations, sound waves, or magnetic flux changes, it provides precise readings without mechanical connection.

Its five detection algorithms are tailored for different operating conditions:

  • Mode A – Detects the maximum power-spectrum peak for steady operation.

  • Mode B – Uses a peak-interval method for unstable signals.

  • Mode C – Predictive tracking when peaks are temporarily lost.

  • Mode D – Continuous tracking of the maximum peak.

  • Mode E – Selects the correct speed from up to eight peaks.

This makes the FT-7200 effective for applications such as:

  • Measuring electric motor RPM in tools and appliances.

  • Monitoring automotive engine speed through exhaust sound or ignition pulses.

  • Inspecting machinery in the field where conventional tachometers cannot be applied.

  • Non-Contact RPM Measurement – Captures speed data via sound, vibration, or magnetic flux without altering the target.

  • Advanced FFT Processing – Delivers accurate readings from complex or noisy signals.

  • Dual Measurement Modes with Five Algorithms

    • Constant Mode (A, B) for steady speed detection.

    • Active Mode (C, D, E) for tracking rapid acceleration or deceleration.

  • Versatile Sensor Compatibility – Works with microphones, accelerometers, ignition-pulse detectors, vibration sensors, and magnetic-flux sensors.

  • High-Speed Response – Measurement updates in 250 ms or less with optional averaging.

  • Clear Display & Output Options – Large backlit LED display with analog and pulse output for integration with other devices.

  • Portable and Lightweight – Battery powered for field use, weighing only around 230 g.

  • RoHS Compliant – Environmentally safe and meets international standards.
